Would you like to make music with us?
We perform a wide range of music
from Claudio Monteverdi to Jonathan Dove

Woodstock Music Society works to present 3 pairs of concerts in December, March and July each year.

Choir

The choir rehearses on Thursday evenings during school term time from 7:30 to 9:30 in the Woodstock Community Centre. If you think you would like to make music with a friendly group of people, why not give it a try and come to a couple of rehearsals before deciding if you want to commit?

Singers are grouped into soprano, alto, tenor and bass sections. You should be comfortable following a choral score but not necessarily able to sight-read the music. All parts get plenty of practice pitching the notes and separate rehearsal tracks are prepared by the Music Director for each voice part.

Please email choir@woodstockmusic.info to find out about vacancies.

Every summer, there is an opportunity for singers from the choir to rehearse and perform away from home, either in the UK or in Continental Europe, rehearsing and performing music suitable for a smaller group. Known as the Woodstock Chamber Choir, it has given concerts in Paris, Rome, Prague, Venice, Barcelona, Rouen, Copenhagen and Amsterdam as well as in cathedral cities in England and Wales.

Strings

The strings of the chamber orchestra rehearse during school term time on alternate Monday evenings at 7:30 in Woodstock Community Centre. If you can play violin, viola, cello or double bass from around grade 7 upwards and would like to join a friendly group of players, please email orchestra@woodstockmusic.info for more information.
