The Society gives three concerts a year, one in spring, summer and in winter. Each concert is given on two consecutive evenings, in St Mary Magdalene Church. Most concerts consist of one or two choral items, with a purely orchestral work. We also strive to support young professional singers in their careers as soloists.
Under the baton of Paul Ingram, our Music Director for over 40 years, our repertoire has centred on sacred and secular music ranging from the early music of Monteverdi through 20th century spirituals and part songs to modern choral works by Gjeilo. With Isabel Knowland, a professional violinist and our Orchestra Leader for over 30 years, the Woodstock Chamber Orchestra of string players is complemented with brass, woodwind and percussion players drawn from local amateur musicians, depending on the requirements of the programme. Both orchestra and choir are always keen to welcome new members!
